BROW FAQ’s
WHAT IS MICROBLADING?
Microblading is a semi-permanent cosmetic tattoo technique that uses a fine handheld tool to create realistic, hair-like strokes. This method enhances the appearance of sparse or uneven brows by mimicking natural brow hairs, resulting in a fuller, more defined look that complements your facial features.
Unlike traditional tattoos that use ink, microblading uses pigments specifically designed to fade gradually over time. This soft fading is intentional it allows for adjustments to shape and color as your natural features change over the years, ensuring your brows always look fresh and suited to you.
WHAT is Machine Shading?
Machine Shading, also known as Powder Brows, is a technique that uses a cosmetic tattoo machine to softly deposit pigment into the skin, creating a smooth, shaded effect. Unlike microblading, which creates hair-like strokes, this method delivers a more filled-in, makeup-like appearance-ideal for those wanting a soft tint and longer-lasting results.
Machine shading is available as a standalone service or can be included when booking Combo
Brows, which blends both microblading and shading for a fuller, more dimensional brow.
HOW LONG IS THE APPOINTMENT?
Appointments typically take about 2 hours. During this time, we'll have a thorough consultation to ensure we're aligned on your goals and preferences. A significant portion of the session is dedicated to precisely measuring and mapping out a symmetrical brow shape tailored to your features.
Once we've agreed on the perfect shape and color, the actual tattooing process takes approximately one hour.
DO I NEED A TOUCH-UP?
In order to ensure that the brows heal perfectly a minimum of two treatments are usually needed 6-10 weeks apart on average. This session gives us the ability to correct any areas that possibly faded or allows the client to make suggestions if they want adjustments with the shape or color.
HOW LONG DOES PERMANENT makeup LAST?
Permanent makeup can last anywhere from 1 to 3 years, depending on your skin type, lifestyle, and aftercare. Over time, the pigment will gradually fade, and most clients choose to get a Color Boost Touch-Up every 1-2 years to maintain the shape, color, and definition.
Several factors can affect how long your results last:
• Skin type (oily skin may fade
faster)
Pigment color (lighter shades fade more quickly)
• Sun exposure
Skincare products (like
Retin-A or exfoliants that speed up skin cell turnover)
Taking good care of your skin and following aftercare guidelines will help extend the life of your results.
DOES IT HURT?
We do everything we can to keep you comfortable and numb throughout the procedure. While some clients may feel mild discomfort, most find the process to be very tolerable.
Please note: Pain sensitivity may be slightly higher if you are a frequent smoker or if your appointment falls during your menstrual cycle.
